Big Bootys are all the rage

There are songs about them. IG and TikTok have hashtags devoted to glutes. Don't forget all the memes, and clothing made specifically to highlight your assets. There is even an emoji that can be used and people know exactly what it means.


Why the infatuation? Who knows? But I am all for it, as a girl who is blessed with a behind that cannot be hidden. I grew up in the age where all your shirts better be longer than your back pockets.


How can you highlight your hiney with strong, lean muscle mass? Leg Day!!!

Squats, lunges, Bulgarian split squats, deadlifts, glute bridges, hip thrusters, and back extensions. All the things that make your legs and backside sore.


To focus more on the glutes, hinge forward (bend at the waist) when doing any lunge-type exercise. This will put more focus on the glutes. Slow down your movements and hold the tension to activate the muscle fibers, faster and more reps will not make a stronger, rounder shape. If you feel inclined, reach back and see if your glutes are firing when you are in the lowered position of these exercises. If not, tweak your movements until you feel the muscle contract.
